Today in adorableness: Jane the Virgin star Jenna Ortega is set to star in the new film Saving Flora.
14-year-old Ortega is set to play the daughter of a circus ringleader who sets out to save an old elephant who can no longer perform. Ortega will star alongside David Arquette and Tai, the elephant from the Reese Witherspoon film Water for Elephants.
The movie is only in the earliest stages of production, but the producers have already promised to donate a portion of the movie’s proceeds to organizations dedicated to protecting elephants around the globe according to Variety.
Ortega currently stars as young Jane on Jane the Virgin and while we’re super psyched for her new role, we can’t help but worry that she will no longer be on the show! Perhaps they can work out a schedule so she can do both? She was only in five episodes the last season, so they should be able to make it happen. Either way, congrats Jenna! So glad to see you making progress in your career.
Jane the Virgin returns October 13th at 9 PM.
