Serena Williams and fiancé Alexis Ohanian are soon-to-be parents, and Ohanian thinks Serena will be an awesome mom.
Serena expressed some concerns in her Vanity Fair interview, talking about how the pregnancy took her by surprise and that she is not sure how to prepare for the baby.
But fiancé Alexis Ohanian has no doubts about Serena.
In an interview on CNBC, Ohanian said,
“She’s very good at a lot of things and well on her way to being an awesome mom too.”
Alexis, co-founder of Reddit, went on to explain that his company works very hard for parental rights and parental leave when employees are expecting new family members. Ohanian himself is taking 6 weeks off.
As the US continues to fall behind when it comes to its laughable parental leave policies, it’s great to see major companies doing right by their employees.
Ohanian stressed the importance of providing resources and benefits for mothers and fathers, is it is not just dads who are the breadwinners. He explained,
“We want to break that stereotype that the men work and the women take care of kids. We want to give that opportunity to everyone.’
The couple’s baby is due in September.
