Bah! We can’t believe we have to wait the whole summer for Riverdale season 2! Luckily, the cast has been on a press tour, giving out tiny details on what to expect in the fall.
Cole Sprouse, who plays the mysterious Jughead, recently chatted with TV Line, where he revealed,
“I think the whole show is going to be getting darker and stranger. We’re going to be leaning into a lot of those qualities that a lot of people ended up loving in the first couple of episodes — this heavy cinematography, this overbearing coloration, this really dark content that’s kind of over-the-top and campy, but it’s taken very seriously.”
“Darker” sounds like an understatement.
Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica, recently echoed a similar sentiment and told EW,
“It’s going to unpack so many things in terms of the relationships for season 2 because Archie’s going to be going through this really traumatic experience and Veronica’s going to have to be there to help with that burden.”
Season 1 left off just as Archie’s father was shot, leaving many to wonder if Luke Perry would be leaving the show, which has yet to be confirmed.
However, we have a feeling that Fred Andrews won’t live to see another day. The creator of the show previously said that the incident would impact Archie just as much as when Bruce Wayne saw his parents gunned down. If that’s the case, then Fred is a goner! However, with Mark Consuelos set to make an appearance as Hiram Lodge, we think we’ll live!
