After our new President attempted a very illegal ban of Muslims entering the country, the American people reacted in a big way. Not only did they storm the streets, JFK airport, and protest Uber’s pro-Trump rhetoric, but they have also supported the ACLU in unprecedented ways.

According to the organization —which was the one to stop the un-American ban by judge’s order, by the way — they were able to raise OVER $24 MILLION DOLLARS in one weekend! So crazy! And just to put that in perspective, that’s about six times as many donations as they get in a typical year. Wowza!

In a single weekend, over 356K people went online to donate to the ACLU and show Trump what we’re all about.

The organization’s executive director Anthony Romero told Yahoo!,

“I’ve never seen anything like this. People are fired up and want to be engaged. What we’ve seen is an unprecedented public reaction to the challenges of the Trump administration.”

The ACLU was able to temporarily block Trump’s order via a federal judge in Brooklyn on Saturday night.  We’re so proud of all the amazing work they’ve done so far and know they will continue to make us proud.
