All praise Amal!
Earlier this week the human rights lawyer gave the keynote speech at the Texas Conference for Women where she gave advice on how women can survive these very trying times.
“The worst thing that we can do as women is not stand up for each other, and this is something we can practice every day, no matter where we are and what we do — women sticking up for other women, choosing to protect and celebrate each other instead of competing or criticizing one another.”
She added, “Holding back women is holding back half of every country in the world.”
Amal also discussed her worries over the new President-elect’s outspoken racism against Muslims, particularly his proposal of a Muslim registry in the U.S.
Despite everything that occurred throughout the election, however, Amal remained slightly hopeful that our new political leaders would be able to defeat ISIS.
