Ashley Graham is making a much-needed plea to high fashion designers to extend their sizes.
In a recent interview with Racked, she says,
“Slowly but surely there’s really big designers that are coming out of the woodwork that are making clothes for curvy girls, Christian Siriano, Prabal [Gurung]. There’s a few that are finally pairing up with the right people, but there are so many more that need to do what Michael Kors has done, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, and really just make those extended sizes.”
She adds that not only do designers need to extend the sizes of their ready-to-wear lines but they also need to start extending the sizes of their designer lines, which notoriously often stop at straight sizes.
“What I also really want to see — those designers included — is [for designers to] make their high-end lines go up in extended sizes, because I want to buy it!”
We hear you! But the question is, are the designers hearing her? We hope so!
