Bjork tells all!

We’ve never thought about the music industry being particularly male-dominated (although perhaps behind the scenes it is!), bit Bjork is opening up about how difficult it was for her to actually make it in music, considering it’s such a “boy’s club,” as she puts it.

She recently told the Sydney Morning Herald,

“The fact I’m a woman and can do what I do is unique, really.”

And although she considered herself to be lucky, she still admits to “hitting walls” in the industry.

What’s really macho, for example, is music journalism. It’s really like a boy’s club. They like music that is… well, a lot of it is for boys.”

We’re super disappointed to here that even a music veteran like Bjork finds it difficult to break through the industry. If Bjork can’t make it work, then who can?!

Lena Finkel is the Editor and Founder of Femestella. Prior to starting Femestella, she worked at People, InStyle, and Tiger Beat. Her favorite Housewife is Bethenny Frankel (by far!), but when she’s not watching RHONY, you can probably find her hanging with her kitty Tom or tweeting at Sen. Chuck Schumer.
