Demi Lovato is totally judging you. (You know who you are).
In a recent interview with Notion magazine, Demi discussed the importance of using your fame for a purpose and why it’s so important that other celebs do the same.
“Fame is weird, but I manipulate it for the better. I see some artists that don’t say anything because they want to be politically correct. It’s frustrating because they have the ability to reach millions of people and do something good, rather than not saying anything.”
“We already are in a very narcissistic career – ‘look at me, look at me’. I use that as a way to use my voice for more than just singing. If you are not using your voice and not standing up for the things you believe in, and not being vocal about certain topics, then you’re just basking in the glory of a very egotistical career.”
And let’s be real. We all know who she’s talking about. We’re not saying that she was purposefully taking aim at anyone in particular, but it’s pretty obvious who the celebs are that refuse to get political.
Maybe there was a time in the past when it was ok to stay silent, but in 2018, silence is complicity. Speak up, or get out.
