Elton John is making his way back to Broadway with The Devil Wears Prada and we could not be more excited!
John is planning on bringing the 2003 book turned Oscar nominated movie to Broadway as a musical with the help of writer Paul Rudnick, who will be responsible for the book and lyrics.
If you are one of the few who hasn’t seen the movie or read the book inspired by Lauren Weisberg’s time at Vogue, it tells the story of Andy Sachs who accepts a job at the legendary fashion magazine, Runway, as the assistant to Miranda Priestly.
If anyone is worried about Elton turning The Devil Wears Prada into a musical, simply don’t be. He’s had success with bringing The Lion King and Billy Elliot to the Broadway stage and will surely create a masterpiece.
In a statement released by John’s publicist he expressed his excitement by saying,
“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theater is super exciting,” John continued “I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
There is no release date yet, but as The Devil Wears Prada fans we cannot wait to see what he does!
