In case you doubted that sexism in Hollywood is very real, let Emma Stone set the record straight.
While chatting about her experiences on set, the La La Land actress described to Rolling Stone how directors would give away her jokes to her male counterpart.
“I hesitate to make it about being a woman, but there have been times when I’ve improvised, they’ve laughed at my joke and then given it to my male co-star. Given my joke away.”
“There are times in the past, making a movie, when I’ve been told that I’m hindering the process by bringing up an opinion or an idea.”
It really stinks that even though Stone is so clearly a huge star, she still has to fight to get her opinions.
Stone is currently starring in La La Land opposite Ryan Gosling.
