Emma Watson gets real

Emma Watson has always been a realist when it comes to feminism. And now she’s talking all about violence against women and how it’s unfortunately become all too common.

Speaking with The Independent, she said,

“One in four women who will experience a form of violence in their lifetime. It’s not talked about enough how pervasive it is. It’s become the norm that women feel afraid walking alone, whether that’s at night or whenever. I think it’s sad that we live in a society where women don’t feel safe.”

But Emma isn’t just going to stand by and watch it happen. A UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2014,  she’s also a passionate advocate for He For She, a gender equality organization.
