Former President George W. Bush would like to take this opportunity to confirm what you’ve all been thinking: Donald Trump is a power-hungry idiot. We’re paraphrasing, obviously, but that’s basically what he said.
“Power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive and it’s important for the media to call to account people who abuse power, whether it be here or elsewhere. We need an independent media to hold people like me to account.”
In the same interview, Bush also rejected Trump’s radical anti-immigration policies, explaining,
“I am for an immigration policy that is welcoming and upholds the law.”
We never thought we’d say this, but Bush is actually making a lot of sense.
Bush wasn’t just there to talk Trump however; he was also there to hawk his new book Portraits of Courage: A Commander In Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. All the proceeds to the book will go the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which helps veterans transition to civilian life post-war.
“I want to sell a lot of books to raise money for helping our vets.”
Aww! Since when did George W. Bush become such a softy? What is happening, people?! Life is officially backwards.
