Our favorite Gina Rodriguez has a new TV show in the works with Netflix! The actress has signed on to voice the title character in the reboot of Carmen Sandiego.
We first heard rumblings that Netflix might revive the show but now the official word has come through. The first season is slated to premiere in 2019 and we feature 20 episodes in total.
The Jane the Virgin actress celebrated the news by tweeting out,
I already have the fedora and coat. So it’s definitely true. ???? https://t.co/Fg2T6yw8W3

Too bad the series is animated! We could totally picture Rodriguez rocking that fedora too!
The original series (which was inspired by the children’s video game), Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, Ran on PBS in the ‘80s with Carmen voiced by Rita Moreno. We have no doubt that Gina will do Carmen justice, however.
Gina Rodriguez first stole our hearts as Jane Villanueva on Jane the Virgin, which has gone on to have massive success. But don’t worry fans, Gina’s work for Netflix won’t have any impact on her role of Jane.
Jane the Virgin is currently in its third season and airs Mondays at 9 PM on The CW.
