This is seriously awesome! On May 27th, three friends witnesses a strange man dropping something in his date’s drink while she went to the bathroom. And that’s when they decided to step up.

Sonia Ulrich, Marla Saltzer, and Monica Kenyon were eating at a restaurant called Fig when the incident went down. Sonia wrote on her Facebook:

I was going on about something and saw Monica staring behind and making a funny face. I stopped. ‘What’s going on?’ After a few second she said ‘That guy just put something in her drink.'”

So crazy! But it’s what happened next that really makes these gals awesome. Sonia decided to go find the girl in the bathroom and tell her everything that they witnessed. The girl was shocked, of course, and admitted that the guy was actually one of her best friends.

That’s right, this wasn’t some blind date, first meeting, or otherwise stranger. This dude was her friend who’d she known for a year and a half.

Meanwhile, back in the dining room, the other ladies were telling their server about the incident in the hopes that the manager could get involved. And 40 minutes later the Santa Monica police were there to pick the guy up.

“The head of security came by and said that because we notified them immediately, they were able to go back and review the footage from the security camera. They got him on tape. They had proof of him drugging this girl. They took the glass away as evidence. They kept us for statements,” Sonia wrote.

That’s amazing! But that wasn’t the end for the girls. Sonia, Marla, and Monica have been receiving “thank yous” all over the internet, publicity on the local news, and articles across the web describing their good samaritan work.

“We are grateful to have an incredible community of family & friends who have shared this story. Your sharing this story has allowed a huge amount of positive energy to be generated around a topic that is often difficult to discuss… Thank you,” Monica wrote on her Facebook a few days later.

This story deserves to be shared a million times over and we hope that more folks will be inspired to keep an eye out for their fellow ladies. Women for the win!
