In a rare post-election appearance, Hillary Clinton has stepped out to support her BFF Katy Perry.
Perry recently received the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award for raising more than $1 million for UNICEF and servicing as an ambassador for the organization for the last few years.
The singer has been a long-time supporter of Hills and campaigned hard for her over the last year. And now it looks like it’s time for Clinton to return the favor!
When Clinton presented Perry with the award, according to Vulture, she exclaimed,
“On a personal level, I cannot tell you how delighted I am to be here to help celebrate a global megastar. I have seen Katy’s commitment to the causes she believes in firsthand. I’ve gotten to spend time with her and I know how deeply she cares about making our world a better place. She is serious about understanding the complex problems we face and pulling people together to solve them. We need champions like Katy now more than ever: her passion, her energy and, yes, her voice, louder than a lion.”
What a compliment! Of course, Perry couldn’t let HRC go without returning the favor and said,
“I’ve always had a voice – a singing voice – but I’ve never had a voice like I’ve had before. Hillary has lit that voice inside of me, and that light will never go out, it will continue to get brighter and brighter and brighter. Thank you Hillary.”
These two are seriously the cutest besties ever! In dark times, they are the great white hope we need right now. Shine on, ladies.
