Looks like it’s Jenna Fischer’s lucky day!
Major networks are green-lighting projects left and right it seems. With new series coming from the likes of Seth Meyers, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Melissa McCarthy, and Zach Braff, it’s an amazing time to be a TV junkie.
The pattern continues with ABC announcing a comedy pilot featuring another familiar face.
Jenna Fischer, who starred as Pam Beesly on NBC’s The Office, will play the lead in a series called Splitting Up Together. Deadline reports that the show is based on a Danish series. It will tell the story of a couple whose relationship is refueled by their divorce.
The series is produced by Emily Kapnek (Suburgatory and Selfie), Ellen DeGeneres’ A Very Good Prods., and Warner Bros TV.
You may recall that Fischer recently had a viral social media moment. The actress was officially pardoned by Chili’s restaurants in a series of tweets that referenced a major Office moment. We hope the new series will keep us laughing like that did.
