This boss lady is not backing down.
Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company has been under much scrutiny over the last year for allegedly using synthetic ingredients in products that were labeled organic.
Most recently The Honest Company was sued by the Organic Consumers Association (OCA). The OCA has made claims that the company’s infant formula is not organic as it claims, but in fact includes 11 synthetic ingredients.
Prior to the infant formula incident, The Honest Company was sued for it’s sunscreen, which allegedly has unnatural ingredients despite being advertised otherwise. Additionally, consumers have called the sunscreen “ineffective.”
Despite all the criticism, Jessica Alba has continued to stand by her products. Most recently she explained why she believed that so many were going after her and her empire.
As a guest on The Today Show, she said,
“Obviously, we want our customers to have the best experience with our brand, but if an organization wants to bring awareness to their cause, I’m an easy target and our brand is an easy target.
But if anyone who does any research understands, and our customers are savvy enough to do research and understand, the integrity of our products. We stand by our ingredients, the effectiveness of the products, and we’re pretty optimistic that we’re going to win every case”
Although the company is still under fire, The Honest Company has only continued to grow. Jessica even launched a second branch of the company, Honest Beauty.
The Honest Company currently sells a range of products from diapers to baby formula to cleaning supplies.
