The 59th Grammys are going to be seriously bleak this year.
Although the trio of male artists have all stated different reasons for not attending it seems there has been a common factor, none of them believe the show is “relevant or representative.”
However, this isn’t the first time an artist has spoken out about the Grammys misrepresentation of the modern music industry. Frank Ocean decided to bow out of the Grammys race altogether this year after releasing his highly anticipated albums, Blonde and Endless.
In a rare interview Ocean spoke about his choice to not participate in the Grammys saying,
“It just doesn’t seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down.”
