After Kim Kardashian’s robbery, everything changed for the socialite. After building her empire on constantly being accessible to her fans, whether through social media or paparazzi photos, Kardashian suddenly had to change her entire game plan and go into hiding.
We all remember when Kardashian was robbed in Paris, leaving her tied up and terrified. Afterwards, she stayed away from the spotlight — avoiding leaving her home and staying off Instagram (a first for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star). And she mostly remained mum on the subject… until now.
In a preview of the newest episode of KUWTK, Kim is seen finally opening up about what happened to her, and exactly what was going through her mind at the time.
“I was like, I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision. Am I gonna run down the stairs and like, either be shot in the back — it makes me so upset to think about it — but, either they’re gonna shoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator does not open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I’m fucked. There’s no way out.”
Kardashian still can’t recount the story with crying, and we don’t blame her.
Back in October, Kardashian was tied up by five masked men while staying in a hotel in Paris. They tied her up and gagged her with duct tape.
In January, 17 suspects were arrested and 10 have been indicted on robbery charges. In total, they stole over $10 million worth of jewelry.
Many blamed Kardashian for the robbery, citing her habit of constantly telling fans her location as the reasons the thieves were able to find her.
As a reminder, victim blaming is never OK.
