Some real royalty joined forces recently, to raise awareness for mental health issues.

Lady Gaga and Prince William video chatted to discuss the hot topic. In the short video, viewers can see Gaga and William dive right into a discussion of mental health and the stigma that surrounds some of these issues.

Gaga, who has previously opened up about her struggle with mental illness, explained to William:

“For me, waking up every day and feeling sad and going on stage is something that is very hard to describe. There’s a lot of shame attached to mental illness, you feel like something’s wrong with you.’ And in my life I go, ‘oh my goodness look at all these beautiful wonderful things that I have, I should be so happy.’ But you can’t help it if you wake up the morning and you are so tired, you are so sad.”

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton have also previously discussed mental illness and the importance of getting help for your children.

The conversation turned to erasing the stigma and urging people to have these conversations about mental health. Prince William voiced his support of encouraging these kinds of discussions; saying it’s not just okay, it is vital.

Gaga agreed, saying that it is time to stop hiding and start talking.

The video comes just days after Prince Harry revealed that it took him a while to come around to seek grief counseling over the loss of his mother, Princess Diana.

The conversation between Gaga and William also suggests that the two might be meeting up later this year for additional work on the subject. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!
