Wow, this story just keeps getting better and better.
In case you missed the Mariah Carey-New Year’s Eve fiasco, let us catch you up: basically the diva threw a fit after her in-ear didn’t work (which she uses to hear the music) and walked off stage during her live performance in Times Square.
Now her team is coming out and saying that not only did she do the right thing, but she should have done it sooner!
Carey’s manager Stella Bulocknikov talked to EW and told them,
“She should have walked off and thrown the mic at somebody’s head — that would have been a great moment.”
She also added that the rumors that Carey skipped the rehearsal was false and basically the Dick Clark people were a shit-show and completely unprepared for her. Talk about drama!
And what does the diva have the say for herself?
She told the magazine,
“All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business. I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time.”
She added that her “true fans” have been supportive and she basically doesn’t care what anybody else thinks. Got it?
