How the two best friends are crushing cliques.
Chloe Grace Moretz and Meghan Trainor have each experienced exclusivity growing up and they are done with it. And now the Hollywood BFFs are opening up about the awesome friendship that is absolutely not a squad!
Speaking with Billboard, Chloe explained why she’s so passionate about the topic.
“We don’t agree with what the word ‘squad’ means. She and I, when we were growing up, we both dealt with being left out of a lot of situations and not being invited into people’s friend groups. We just think that squad-specific exclusivity doesn’t go along with what we believe in.”
After nearly a year of obsessing over who’s “in” and who’s “out” of the squad, Chloe and Meghan’s refreshing viewpoint.
And while Chloe added that “none of us are anti-Taylor Swift,” it sounds like she doesn’t have plans to emulate the singer anytime soon.
As for Meghan, she couldn’t be happier just to find someone in Hollywood she clicks so well with.
“Other celebrity friends, they’re not your best friends because you don’t get to see them, and when you do, you’re like, ‘Oh, hi. Are you exhausted, too?’ Chloe’s just really real.”
