As an actress in Hollywood, Natalie Dormer is no stranger to sexism. But according to the Game of Thrones actress the worst kind is often overlooked: innate cultural sexism.

Natalie was in interview with ELLE when the topic was brought up. When asked if she faced sexism throughout her career, she replied,

“Only what is sort of innate. But I think that’s the most dangerous kind of sexism: People don’t realize it’s there and we end up surreptitiously accepting it because it’s just part of our culture.”

Natalie makes a good point. So often we talk abut explicit sexism or sexism that’s obvious. But how often do we talk about the culture sexism that flies under the radar?

So many things that are not overtly sexist have become ingrained in our culture. So much so that we don’t even think twice about it.

We’d love for Natalie to continue to speak out about the issue and hope she continues to be an advocate for modern feminism.
