NYFW got it right with its Fall 2017 shows… kind of.

The Fashion Spot reported that this was the most diverse NYFW has ever been, featuring at least one model of color in every runway show. It also had the most size diversity with 26 plus-size models walking in nine different shows. This included Ashley Graham, who stole the show as the first plus model to walk for Michael Kors.

It’s upsetting that this is still considered newsworthy in 2017, but it is a step in the right direction.

The top five racially diverse shows were:

Gypsy Sport (87% were models of color)

Chromat (77% were models of color)

Kimora Lee Simmons (75% were models of color)

Yeezy (74% were models of color)

Marc Jacobs (66% were models of color)
