Growing up as in Hollywood, Raven-Symone struggled to come to terms with her sexual identity.

In the newest episode of It Gets Better, the actress revealed, “I kinda pushed myself to look for boys. I look back now like, ‘Woah, you like girls.'”

But once she accept herself, things only got more complicated for her. As a former Disney star, she admitted that she had “15 people dictating what (she) should and should not look like” and was afraid to tell anyone the truth.

I didn’t wanna tell my parents. I had the number one show on Disney. I had multiple albums, I’d been on tour with *NSYNC… I didn’t wanna deal with that. I never thought I would come out because my personal life didn’t matter. It was only what was supposed to be sold as the Raven-Symone brand”

But coming out turned out to be one of the best moments in Raven-Symone’s life.

“I felt lighter, I felt like I could go out and not have to put on 17 different hats to be myself.”

We’re so proud of her! We can’t imagine how much pressure was on the former child star and the fact that she made it out alive is miraculous.
