Sarah Jessica Parker claims she’s not a feminist, but we have reason to believe otherwise. SJP recently discussed her opinions on equality, the gender pay gay, and women in Hollywood.
Speaking with Marie Claire for her September cover, she said,
“I believe in women and I believe in equality, but I think there is so much that needs to be done that I don’t even want to separate it anymore. I’m so tired of separation. I just want people to be treated equally.”
The actress may think she doesn’t “qualify” to be a feminist, but we definitely think she does. She went on to discuss the gender pay gap nation-wide and said she would like to see this “nonsense” come to an end.
“I would like women to get paid for the value of their contributions, not by old-fashioned ideas about gender.”
Additionally, she said that it’s “indisputable” that actresses like Jennifer Lawrence should received equal pay to that of their male counterpart.
Ok, there’s no way anyone wouldn’t consider Sarah Jessica to be a feminist. We’re so grateful to have a great role model like her!
SJP is preparing for her new show on HBO Divorce. We can’t wait!
