Thank goodness.

BREAKING: In a 5-3 decision, the Supreme Court has just struck down an anti-abortion law in Texas, coming out with strong support for a woman’s right to choose.

This is amazing! Not only will this change things in Texas but will also affect similar laws held in 12 other states.

Under the 2013 law, Texas forced abortion clinics to adhere to strict and unnecessary provisions, resulting in many clinics having to shut down. According to NBC, in the last three years the number of clinics dropped from 42 to 19, severely limiting women’s access to abortions.

In the majority decision, the Supreme Court wrote about the strict provisions, “Each places a substantial obstacle in the path of women seeking a pre-viability abortion, each constitutes an undue burden on abortion access, and each violates the federal Constitution.”

We’re so relieved that the Supreme Court came out so strongly in favor of a women’s right to choose.
