She’s remaining optimistic.
We have to say we were pretty sad for Scheana Shay when we heard her and Mike Shay were officially calling it quits. Sure, she can be annoying at times, but she never deserved this!
And now the Vanderpump Rules star is opening up about life post-divorce and possible dating in the future.
She told E! News,
“I’m already so much happier and I do feel like a weight has been lifted. I just want to stay happy.”
But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t struggled.
“I definitely have my days where I break down and I’m really sad about it. But at the end of the day, I know this is what’s right. It was not meant to be. That wasn’t my forever and I know I’ll get that one day and I’m just waiting for that day.”
The Shays began having troubles onscreen when she discovered his substance abuse issues. Although they tried to solve it on their own, he eventually went to rehab to get help.
The two continued to struggle as a couple and decided to go to Hawaii as a last-ditch effort to reconnect. But alas, they couldn’t make it work.
“I felt like I lost my spark for a while and I feel like I definitely got it back. It’s not 100 percent there yet but I’m in a very good place right now and I am very happy.”
Shay continues to remain optimistic about the future, however and added, “I’m definitely open to finding love again.”
The couple first met in high school but didn’t begin dating until 2010. They got married four years later on TV (you’ll remember that Shay wore a halter top to her own wedding, because of course she did).
The reality star has been having a rough season on Vanderpump Rules and has been on the receiving end of a shit storm courtesy of Stassi, Katie, and Kristin. Here’s to hoping your year gets better, girl!
