Selena Gomez Explains Why She Left ‘The Scene’

Selena Gomez kills it as an actress and a solo artist, but fans may remember that she started her musical career with a band called The Scene.

Who could forget bangers like Who Says, Love You Like a Love Song, and Round & Round? You can thank Selena Gomez & The Scene for those.

So what happened there? Don’t get us wrong, we are more than happy with Selena’s current musical career. In fact, we love her current sound! But don’t you kind of wonder what happened? Well, now Selena is dishing and it sounds like a smart choice, and that it was an amicable split.

In a Q&A session on Ask Anything Chat, Selena explained,

“That to me was a very specific time in my life. I think if you’re 14, 15, 16 and you’re trying to sing about situations in life that you haven’t experienced, I don’t really know if that qualifies you as an artist if I’m being honest with you. It helped me to have people who were older around me that helped guide me, and inspired me and pushed me. And there was a moment when I felt like I could do it and I wanted to try it on my own.”

Songs about love and heartbreak are probably hard to sing about at such a young age, with little experience in those areas. But Selena rocked it thanks to The Scene!
