There are so many wonderful gems on Netflix and yet somehow it can be incredibly difficult to find anything to watch.
Luckily, we did the digging for you and found five documentaries that you (probably) haven’t watched yet. Check them out below.
1. Chasing Coral
Chasing Coral follows a scientist and his team as they investigate and document the destruction of coral reefs, a topic that has largely fallen off many climate change activists’ agendas.
It’s beautifully shot, thrilling, and wildly entertaining. It’s one of the best climate change documentaries on Netflix and will have you more invested in coral than you ever thought possible.
2. Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond
Jim & Andy follows Jim Carrey behind the scenes while filming the movie Man on the Moon, in which he portrayed comedian Andy Kaufman.
What starts out as method acting takes a dark turn as Andy essentially takes over Jim’s body and Jim begins to lose himself. Things only get weirder from there.
If you’re a fan of Jim Carrey then this definitely has to go to the top of your list — even if you have absolutely no idea who Andy Kaufman is.
3. Growing Up Wild
Two words: Baby. Animals. Do I even need to say more?
Growing Up Wild follows five baby animals around the world as they learn to play, grow, and explore the world around them. Every single moment is adorable and it’s a great escape from the stressful world around us.
4. Wild Wild Country
I debated putting Wild Wild Country on the list since it was highly publicized at the time of its release. But in case you missed it, you *definitely* need to watch it ASAP.
The docuseries follows Indian “guru” (aka cult leader) Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his followers after they move to a tiny town in Oregon and all hell breaks loose. Without giving anything away, the series includes poison, assassination attempts, and lots of fraud.
If you like cults, true crime, and pure mind-blowing craziness, then this is absolutely for you.
5. Transformer
Transformer follows bodybuilder Janae Kroc as she transitions to living life as a woman full-time.
Prior to transitioning, Janae was a world-record-setting powerlifter. But now, she has to figure out how to make her two worlds come together.
