5 Little-Known Songwriters Who Are Changing the Music Industry

This article is part of a brand partnership.

In case you don’t already know by now, most musicians these days don’t actually write their own songs (unless you’re Taylor Swift, of course).

In reality, many of your favorite artists rely on talented songwriters to either co-write their songs or simply write their songs for them.

Unfortunately, many of these songwriters don’t get the attention and acclaim they deserve. They stay behind the scenes while the musicians get all the glory.

But these songwriters have helped shape the music industry. They’re the reason why Beyonce was able to deliver her powerful, empowering album Lemonade and why America has gone crazy for K-pop.

Below, check out some of the most talented songwriters that you definitely need to know about.

Many of Nija’s songs have reached platinum status and she’s become one of the most sought-after writers in the biz. Some of her most famous songs include “Positions” (Ariana Grande), “Rain on Me” (Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga), and “LoveHappy” (Beyonce and Jay-Z).

The 28-year-old is also well known for her work with bestie Selena Gomez, for whom she co-wrote the songs “Lose You to Love Me”, “Food For You”, “Bad Liar, “Hands to Myself,” and “Look At her Now,” among many others.

When she’s not working with Selena, she writes for Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas, Dua Lipa, and more.
