‘Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams Might Have Just Come Up with the BEST Fan Theory

There have been *a ton* of Game of Thrones fan theories but Maisie Williams may have just come up with the ultimate one.

Williams, who plays Stark, has been super into the whole Faceless Man storyline for Arya and told EW,

“When I heard first heard about the Faceless Men, I always thought it would be really cool if she switched faces with a leading character rather than an unknown person’s face. I really hope [viewers] don’t guess it’s her straight away.”

And why exactly is she so keen on this idea? Let her explain.

“I’ve always had this fantasy in the back of my head — I don’t think it’s a good ending and fans might not like it — but that somebody would sit on the Iron Throne at the end and then they whip their face off and it’s Arya instead. I’ve always had that dream.”

Um, that’s AMAZING! We don’t know about other fans, but we would totally be down to see Arya sit upon the iron throne like the badass she is.

In the same interview, Maisie said Arya might be becoming more “monster” than “badass,” however. On that crazy season 7 opening scene she said,

“Even Arya is surprised she has so much power. In that last moment she’s staring out at all those men dying, she’s turned into a bit more of a monster than she’s ever realized. I don’t think she’s sad about that but she’s got it on her mind.”

It was definitely shocking, to say the least, but we kind of always knew Arya had it in her.

Game of Thrones‘ final season returns in 2019.
