Riverdale star Camila Mendes recently started going to a therapist and she’s already super into it!

The 23-year-old actress recently chatted with Byrdie about all things beauty, red carpet, and yes, mental health! She said,

“I just started seeing a therapist and I’m super stoked about it. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and considering how much my life has changed this year, I thought it was about time I check in with myself.”

She added,

“It’s been really difficult adjusting to the pace of this industry, everything moves so quickly and people are constantly coming at you with endless demands. I’ve had to make room in my life for so many new people and work obligations, that now I barely have time for myself, not to mention my family and friends. So to have that slotted time once a week to focus on myself is so essential to my well-being.”

Camila was basically thrust into the spotlight overnight, so we can totally understand that it would be a rough transition! This is actually something her costar and bestie Lili Reinhart talked about earlier this year. She said,

“The world is overwhelming a lot of the times and I find myself to be an anxious person, I get stressed out and overwhelmed so I find it therapeutic to be at the beach.”

We’re glad that both Camila and Lili have found ways to cope with the stress of their new lives in the limelight.

It seems like a lot of young stars have embraced taking care of their mental health. Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey has gushed about therapy and how much it’s helped him and, of course, Demi Lovato has always been a huge advocate of getting help when you need it. Luckily, there are more resources than ever to get professional help with apps like Headspace, Talkspace and more.
