A teen in Texas had her dreams come true when her idol Beyoncé FaceTimed her personally.
Ebony Banks, a senior at Alief Hastings High School in Houston, unfortunately had to spend most of her year in the hospital due to her stage 4 cancer diagnosis.
Nicknamed “Ebob”, Ebony’s classmates and friends began a social media campaign to help make her Beyoncé dreams come true.
With the hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE taking social media by storm, it must have caught Bey’s attention. On March 22, she gave a video call to Ebony, much to her delight.
The school tweeted the news, thanking Beyoncé.

Ebony was able to graduate early, becoming the first graduate of her class’s 2017 senior group.
However, it is with sadness that we report that Ebony passed away on Saturday night. Her school held a candlelight vigil for the beloved student. We hope she is at peace and send our condolences to her family and friends.
