This article is brought to you in partnership with BioRepublic. However, all opinions are my own and this is my honest review of their products.
I’ll be honest: I’ve always been a bit of a sheet mask skeptic. Sure, they’re fun for a home spa day. But as an actual skincare treatment? I’d never used one that actually made much of a difference.
So when I got the chance to try BioRepublic’s Lost Baggage Under Eye Emergency Repair Mask, I was excited… but skeptical.
In case you’re unfamiliar with BioRepublic, the clean skincare brand is inspired by all of your favorite K-beauty products but reformulated to ditch all the parabens, sulfates, and other gunk. Instead, they focus on finding natural alternatives to many of the harsh chemicals that often plague our toiletries.
All of BioRepublic’s products are also 100% cruelty-free — something that’s particularly important to me (have you seen those videos of laboratory-kept beagles touching grass for the first time?!).
But unlike most cruelty-free skincare brands, BioRepublic is shockingly affordable. The Lost Baggage masks I tried are only $5 (and the rest of their sheet masks are all under $10). Most ethical skincare brands come with a higher price tag — which is understandable, but not particularly wallet-friendly for those of us on a budget.

I’m a skinimalist (skin minimalist) so adding any new product to my routine is a big deal. Everything I currently use is either prescribed or recommended by my dermatologist.
Luckily, everything by BioRepublic is dermatologist-tested and the brand is extremely transparent about its ingredient lists. They even have a page on their website dedicated to breaking down each ingredient alongside links to the non-profit Environmental Working Group’s SkinDeep ratings, which independently evaluate how safe various compounds are for your skin.
Ok, so let’s get into it. Below is my honest review of BioRepublic’s Lost Baggage Under Eye Masks.
A Bit About My Skin
Before we get started, I should probably clue you in to my skin needs.
BioRepublic’s under-eye masks aim to relieve the signs of “fatigue, dehydration, and fine lines.”
I’m newly 30 and don’t quite have those fine lines yet. But fatigue? Absolutely. Like most of my generation, I’m perpetually exhausted — and it shows on my face.
I’ve also been going through a super-fun bout of depression, which means lots of crying and puffy eyes. So this mask definitely has its work cut out for it.
First Impressions
Opening up the package for the first time, I was shocked at how much excess serum there was. There was more than enough to cover my entire face and neck. It felt like I was getting a two-for-one.
The masks are infused with a whole list of superstar ingredients — hyaluronic acid, squalene, and peptides. Hyaluronic acid has long been proven to fight signs of aging by rehydrating the skin and smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines. Squalene also acts as a great moisturizer and has been shown to repair dry skin as well as deliver antioxidants.

The masks themselves were super thin and delicate and definitely took a bit of dexterity to separate out (nothing a little practice couldn’t fix, though).
I have extremely dry eyes but was pleasantly surprised that the masks didn’t irritate them, which was one of my biggest concerns.
Once they were on, they stayed put. I could go about my morning and completely forget they were there, which was nice since I usually don’t have much time to lounge around on weekday mornings.
The Results
For maximum results, I placed the masks in the fridge (as recommended) and used them three times a week in the mornings for two weeks total.
Putting them in the fridge was definitely a game-changer. The cool masks felt amazing on my puffy eyes, especially if I’d had a rough night.
15 minutes later and I definitely felt a lot more refreshed. The puffiness had decreased, if not completely dissipated. I looked more awake than I had in a long time.
I was also impressed with how well my skin had absorbed the serum from the mask. I usually find that after using a sheet mask, there’s still tons of serum just sitting on top of my face. But this time, my skin felt hydrated instead of slimy.

Last Words
I would love to pretend like I could keep up using the masks three times a week, but I’m not sure I can realistically commit to that. My goal is to use them at least once on the weekends to keep my skin feeling hydrated and my eyes a little less fatigued. And, if nothing else, to give my skin the care and attention it so desperately needs.
If anyone is looking for a bit of a refresh in the mornings, I would definitely recommend trying out BioRepublic’s Lost Baggage Under Eye Masks. Trust me, your tired eyes will thank you.
