The ladies of Broad City are taking on Trump in an interesting way.
Or should we say, T%#*!
The show doesn’t shy away from current events and politics, so obviously, the President will come up in the new season. But his name won’t, really. They’ll bleep his name whenever it comes up, like any other profanity.
On the bleeping decision, star Ilana Glazer said,
“There’s no airtime for this orange (person). We bleep his name the whole season.”
Abbi and Ilana are both avid Hillary supporters and admitted that they rewrote a lot of season 4 after the election.
One episode, in particular, will feature a Trump-related plot, as the ladies figure things out under the new administration.
Ilana explained,
“Ilana’s ‘powers’ are decreasing during the current administration because it’s just so hard to [orgasm] when you know so many people are in such danger. So Ilana works through her Trump-related [hang-up] and it’s wild.”
Seems like the most Broad City way to cover the topic!
