Way to shut down ageists, Calvin Klein! The brand just released a brand new ad campaign for their women’s underwear, featuring famous women ages 18-73. How cool!
The brand new underwear ad is shot in grainy black and white by Sofia Coppola and features Kirsten Dunst, Rashida Jones, Nathalie Love, Laura Harrier, Maya Thurman-Hawke, Chase Sui Wonders, and Lauren Hutton. And although all the women are wonderful, 73-year-old Hutton totally steals the show. Of course, she is a modelling genius, so it should come as a surprise to no one.
Calvin Klein typically features, young, thin models in their ads (think Kendall Jenner and teenage Kate Moss) so it’s super refreshing to see them change their tune. They also feature a decent amount of racial diversity, especially for a brand that’s typically very, well, white. Past ad campaigns have featured celebs such as Christy Turlington, Doutzen Kroes, Lara Stone, Scarlett Johansson, and Rooney Mara, for example.
The new ad comes after Calvin Klein collaborated on a campaign with the actors of Moonlight.
Now if we can just get Calvin Klein to expand to include body diversity, we could give them two thumbs up! Hey, curvy ladies like lingerie as much as the next woman!
