Cara Delevingne has had enough of society’s beauty standards. And girl, same.

In a few Instagram posts, the model-turned-actress had some powerful words for those who still enforce conventional beauty standards. Cara posted,

“The more we embrace who we are as people and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become. Beauty shouldn’t be so easily defined. It is limitless.”

She added a second, paparazzi pic with the caption,

“Its exhausting to be told what beauty should look like. I am tired of society defining beauty for us. Strip away the clothes, Wipe Off the make up, cut off the hair. Remove all the material possessions. Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?”

These words were no-doubt inspired by Cara’s new haircut. She recently shaved her head for a film role. And as you can see, she is rocking the heck out of that style.

Granted, Cara is a gorgeous, white, ex-model, so maybe should not be the poster child for unconventional beauty standards. But still, her words are completely true. If we all shaved our heads and rid ourselves of material wealth, what are we left with? Who are we as people? Definitely, leaves some food for thought

Cara shaved her head for the film Life in a Year, but you can see her this summer in the movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
