We have some heartbreaking news: skinny jeans are officially over. That’s right, our beloved jeggings are no longer deemed “in” and now we must start anew.
So, what are the cool kids wearing these days instead? Well, it depends who you ask.
If you want to embrace a 70s vibe, pull a Beyonce and grab your favorite flare jeans. If you’d rather return to your youth, turn to Hailey Bieber, who’s been rocking those totally 90s baggy jeans. And if you’re not ready to take such a big leap, look to Zendaya and wear a pair of cropped straight-leg jeans.
For anyone who’s horrified at the idea of leaving their skinny jeans behind, we only have more bad news to share: a lot of these jeans have no stretch. Personally, I find this absolutely appalling. What kind of jeans have no stretch? How am I expected to live like this?
Well, unless we want to look completely out-of-touch, we’re both going to have to get over it, my friend.
So, let’s move on. Below you’ll the seven biggest denim styles celebrities are rocking these days. Check them out below.
1. Cuffed Straight-Leg Jeans
If you’re a little shy about leaving your jeggings behind, you might want to try out straight-leg jeans with a cuff. The style is just laid-back enough to look chic without totally ditching a more form-fitting look. Look to Zendaya, Victoria Beckham, and Kristen Stewart for inspiration.

2. Wide Straight-Leg Jeans
Wide-leg straight jeans are one step up from straight-leg jeans: they maintain the straight shape but just with a little more volume. See Nicolette Mason and Dua Lipa for inspo.

3. Boyfriend + Mom Jeans
We’re grouping boyfriend and mom jeans together because the two are basically cousins. The relaxed fit will give you that “not trying too hard” look. But beware: boyfriend and mom jeans tend to have zero stretch (eek!). We’re picking Jisoo and Stephanie Yeboah as our muses.

4. Flare Jeans
Get your 70s on with the classic flare jeans aka bell bottoms. Keep it low-key with a look like Olivia Rodrigo or go for a more statement-making look like Beyonce. The beauty of the flare jean is that they typically are form-fitting on top and still have a bit of stretch.

6. Cargo Wide-Leg Jeans
Cargo pants are back! But this time, they’re in denim form. Take a hint from Adut Adech and Kylie Jenner, who have been sporting the look.

7. Baggy Jeans
Could this trend be any more 90s? Everyone from Hailey Bieber to Rihanna to Emily Ratajkowski to Gabi Gregg has been completely nailing this look so you can bet you’ll seem cool AF rocking a pair of baggy jeans.
