Chris Evans and Jenny Slate may have broken up but it turns out these exes have nothing but love for each other!

The two met on the set of Gifted but broke up before the press tour even started. But it looks like the two broke up mutually as both actors literally can’t stop complimenting each other!

In Evans’ most recent interview with People, he said of Slate,

She’s my favorite human. She’s the best.

He added that she’s incredibly articulate and interesting to talk to.

“It’s like an art form talking with her because the visuals associated with her expression are just so colorful. She’s so vulnerable, so honest, so interested in other people more than herself, she’s incredibly compassionate, there’s just nothing to not love about her.”

Prior to this, Jenny Slate gushed over Chris to Vulture, where she said,

“I first really liked Chris as a person because he is so unpretentious. He is a straight-up 35-year-old man who wants to play games. That’s it. I was like, ‘I’d better not discount this because this is purity.’”

The two actors come from very different backgrounds — Evans is best known as Captain America while Slate has a comedy background, best known for her roles in Parks and Rec and Bob’s Burgers.

Jenny had just separated from her husband before jumping into a relationship with Chris, but that didn’t stop her from going full force.

“Chris is a sunny, loving, really fun person, and I didn’t really understand why I should be prudent.”

Nonetheless, Slate hopes the two can be friends one day.

“We’re not on bad terms, but we haven’t really seen each other, spoken a lot. I think it’s probably best. I’d love to be his friend one day, but we threw down pretty hard. No regrets, though. Ever.”

Based on Evans’ interview, it sounds like he would totally be down for a friendship one day too.

So, uh, why did these two break-up again?
