Chrissy Teigen –model, co-host, cookbook author, mother, wife, clapback queen, and beyond – has become an icon over the last few years.
Chrissy’s fan base grew organically from her being her honest, relatable self on social media and in public spaces. And now, she’s the cover model and story of next month’s Marie Claire magazine. Based on the tidbits of the interview that the magazine released, you can tell this is the authentic Teigen.
Teigen opens up about her struggles with anxiety and said,
“Every step I take feels a little shaky. It’s such a weird feeling that you wouldn’t know unless you have really bad anxiety…You feel like everyone is looking at you.”
Chrissy also recently revealed her battle with severe postpartum depression. Her honesty about her struggles has helped others upon up and find solace in their own mental health journeys.
When asked about growing her family, Chrissy said,
“I would definitely adopt or have foster children. But I loved being pregnant. Maybe I should be scared [of having PPD again], but I don’t know. It couldn’t be any worse than it was–could it?”
She has been open about her struggles in the past with fertility issues, but we hope that people don’t keep pestering her about her choice to expand her family or not. Let’s let people keep their private lives private.
So where does all this openness and unfiltered realness come from? Chrissy indicates that she’s always been this extremely honest person. She explained,
“I’m the person who had the fake ID in high school and college, and I would show it and be like, ‘I’m sorry; it’s fake,’ and run off. I don’t know if it’s way too honest or way too anxious–maybe it’s a combo of both.”
It is so refreshing these days to have someone in the public eye who is as honest and real as Chrissy. Especially when it comes to the not-so-glamorous aspects of life. We hope she continues to heal, and live as her authentic self. And who else is excited about her next cookbook??
