Chrissy Teigen is over it.
Chrissy, who is part Thai, Norwegian, and German, is so tired of being the only Asian model. She recently chatted with E! News where she explained,
“I want it to be a normal thing to be able to see Asian models, and I think Asian models are really underrepresented in the industry, especially on the runways or in magazines.”
But the runway isn’t the only place where diversity is an issue. She’s also sick of seeing Asian women in stereotypical roles in the movies.
“I think its really important to start embracing people…seeing them in roles that are not necessarily ‘That Asian Girl’ or ‘That Asian Boy.’ In movies, you’re like ‘Oh, this Asian girl is dating this white guy’—I want that to be normal.”
Teigen and her hubby John Legend have both spoken out on the diversity issue in Hollywood numerous times and we’re glad to see these two aren’t going to let anything like this fly!
