America’s sweetheart Ellen DeGeneres has a new role to fill: game show host!
The talk show host, comedian, and fashion designer just signed a deal with NBC to host a primetime game show.
Considering the plethora of obstacle and trivia games that DeGeneres plays on her daily show, we are not too surprised by this announcement.
Called Ellen’s Game of Games, Variety reports that the show features some of the beloved games from her talk show. This includes favorites like “What’s in the Box?” and “Know or Go”.
The show is produced by her company A Very Good Production, along with producers from her talk show,
We are excited to see DeGeneres dabble in both daytime and primetime programming. The comedian agrees.
DeGeneres says,
“I’m so excited to be hosting a huge primetime game show for NBC…we’re pulling out all the stops — gigantic sets, hilarious games. It’s going to be like a combination of American Ninja Warrior, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and a water park. OK, it’s nothing like that, but you should still watch”.
We will!
NBC ordered six episodes thus far, although no word yet on a premiere date.
