Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy Team Up with Everytown to Stand Up to Gun Safety

In response to the tragedies, executive orders, policy proposals, and more that outrages most of America, those with public and private platforms have been calling for action.

For us civilians, this usually means leaving a voicemail for your senators and asking they oppose a looming agenda or do something about a pressing issue. But many are unlikely to actually follow through on this because they might not know how to call or even what to say to our representatives.

Which is why celebrities and other famous faces came together for a video with Everytown for Gun Safety to teach you how to call your senator and ask that they reject the NRA’s stronghold.

Emma Stone said,

“The mass shooting in Las Vegas has all of us grieving, scared and angry.”

Bill Hader continued,

“Knowing what to do about it can be confusing. Here’s one thing that can make a difference right now.”

Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks and others then read out a number to text ‘REJECT’, which connects you to Everytown. You’ll then receive a phone number for your lawmaker and guidelines on what to say.

Melissa McCarthy, Adam Scott and Laura Dern are just several of the slew of celebrities who then record their calls, following the script Everytown sent them. Check out the full video below.
