Freeform’s ‘Siren’ About Killer Mermaids Looks Scary Good

ABC Family, er, Freeform is really trying to make it happen with a whole new slate of shows, including their latest attempt Siren.

The series just dropped the first trailer, which features a mermaid-turned-human who washes up on shore and promptly kills anyone who gets in her way.

The show doesn’t premiere until March 29, but Freeform is making the big push for publicity starting now.

Siren is a part of Freeform’s all-new lineup, including Famous in Love (thumbs down), The Bold Type (double thumbs down), and the latest Pretty Little Liars spinoff The Perfectionists (tbd).

Freeform seems to be trying *real* hard to compete with The CW, which has pretty much nailed their fall lineup with Jane the Virgin, Riverdale, iZombie, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and the 200th season of Supernatural. Uh, sorry Freeform, but it’s no contest!

Maybe Siren will turn Freeform’s luck around. And by the looks of their PR push, they’re counting on it.

Check out the trailer below.
