Oh, say it ain’t so.
Gilmore Girls created Amy Sherman-Palladino recently talked about the possibility of even more seasons of the show and said it was actually written into her new deal with Amazon.
“We carved out a little niche for ourselves with Amazon saying that if we ever want to do it, if the girls and us get together and we have a concept that works, then we have the freedom to do it.”
As a die-hard Gilmore Girls fan, I have to say that this is not good news. After ending the show 10 years ago, ASP and the crew brought it back to Netflix for A Year in the Life and the result was a disaster. The script felt off, the Beatles montage was painful, and the ending was disappointing.
And now she wants even more episodes? Why does she insist on ruining the legacy of the show?
Luckily, it sounds like it’s not too likely to happen. She added,
“It would just have to be the right circumstances, and that we’re all sort of in the same drunken mood together to go repaint Stars Hollow again. Because we had to repaint Stars Hollow, and we’ll have to repaint it again. But it’s definitely possible.”
Earlier this year, Amy Sherman-Palladino and her hubbie Daniel Palladino signed a multi-year deal with Amazon. The duo is already working on the new show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
