Lauren Graham & Alexis Bledel Respond to Gilmore Girls’ Revival Season 2 Rumors

We’ve got some bad news. Or good news? Depends on how you feel about the Gilmore Girls revival.

Looks like the waters are murky when it comes to a second season of the Gilmore Girls reboot.

Last month Ted Sarandos,  Chief Content Officer of Netflix, hinted that an additional season of the series might be on the horizon.

Although nothing is confirmed, it looks like the two leading ladies aren’t too enthused about rebooting the reboot.

At Sunday’s “The Contenders” event hosted by Deadline, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel responded to the rumors.

Graham said,

“If it all existed in a vacuum, I would play that character until my dying day… Now it’s become what could we do with this story that is satisfying, that is worth continuing. I don’t know if there is a need to do more. I wouldn’t want it to feel like we overstayed our welcome.”

Bledel gave a slightly more vague answer, explaining that it comes down to, “what story we’re telling… I’m just interested in telling a story that is dynamic and that I can hook into.”

We agree with both. There needs to be a story worth telling. If it continues just for the sake of continuing, it might take an unpleasant turn or leave a bad taste in our mouths. We all know the feeling of a show that has gone on for too long.

As much as it’s exciting to see shows come back, we kind of hope that this rumor doesn’t come to fruition. Sometimes you have to know when to let go.
