'Hater' Dating App Promises to Find Your Match Based on Everything You Hate

Hate Harry Potter and looking for love? There’s an app for that.

The new dating app, aptly named Hater, plans to match you with guys and gals who hate all the same things as you do. CEO Brendan Alper told The Cut,

“The more I thought about it, the more I thought ‘Hey even though this was a funny idea, it actually makes a lot of sense.”

So how does it work? You swipe through different topics including Trump, gluten-free, marijuana, Taylor Swift and more to tell the app all the things you like and hate. It will then provide matches based on your dislikes. Currently there are 2,000 topics to swipe through but they plan on eventually adding user-generated topics to the app.

But despite all the hate on the app, Alper says that hate speech is absolutely not tolerated.

“We view hate speech as completely unacceptable, we have zero tolerance for any sort of bigotry or hate speech or discrimination.”

Hater was originally pitched on the show Shark Tank and has a 4-star rating on iTunes so they must be doing something right.

Bonus? They’re also responsible for artwork such as this:
