'Incredibles 2' Actually Looks Super Feminist (And Super Awesome)

Disney Pixar just released the official long trailer for Incredibles 2 and it actually looks hella feminist.

We already knew that a big part of the movie would revolve and Jack Jack and his powers, but the other major plot revolves around none other than Elastigirl. Helen Parr has a new job to help boost the supers’ public reputation and Bob (Mr. Incredible) is now a stay-at-home dad. Hell yeah!

Bob is not super thrilled about the change and Helen is still getting used to being away from the family for so long (something many working mothers deal with IRL). But I love that Pixar is even tackling this in the first place. It’s so refreshing to see a woman bringing home the bacon while the dad stays to watch the kids. How many movies can you name that actually show that?

I admit that I was originally skeptical about a sequel to the Incredibles. Sequels are rarely as good as the original and the Incredibles set the bar pretty high. But based on the trailer, the movie looks like it may just live up to the hype.

Incredibles 2 officially hits theaters on June 15. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
