Jane Fonda is one heck of a sex-positive old lady.
If you loved her selling vibrators in season 3 of Grace and Frankie, you’ll probably be excited about this next piece of news.
Fonda will star in a new movie from Paramount Pictures called Book Club, alongside Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen.
In regards to plot, Deadline reports,
“Set in and around California, Book Club is a heartfelt comedy about four lifelong friends in their 60s who read 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club and have their lives changed forever. For these successful and intelligent women, this is not the type of book that they typically read, but as they soon find out, inspiration can come in the most unlikely of places.”
Deadline also reports that the women will play characters who are in various stages of relationships (eg. from divorcées, to the “no-strings-attached” type).
The success of Grace and Frankie makes us hopeful that this movie will take on this kind of “taboo” subject in a similarly hilarious and tasteful way. Because the Netflix series’ critical acclaim shows that these topics can be approached in a really positive manner. Fingers crossed!
Book Club is set to release in 2018.
